Artsakh Army damages a firing point in Alakhlu village amid Azerbaijani shelling from TR-107 multiple launch rocket systems
Throughout July 4, the Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire regime across the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan. As Defense Army of the Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) Republic reported late on Tuesday, the Azerbaijani forces fired 82mm and 60mm mortars (9 shells in total) in the eastern direction of the Line of Contact, automatic grenade launcher (3 shells) – in the southern direction. According to the source, at around 20:20-20:30 the Azerbaijani forces applied multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the TR-107 type (5 shells) in the direction of a military base located in the southern direction. The Artsakh Defense Ministry draws the attention of the international community, that Azerbaijani applied the TR-107 type of rocket first time since the April war in 2016.
The release went on saying the Artsakh Defense Army was forced to take response actions to suppress the adversary’s offensive at around 20:31-20:40, damaging the firing point deployed in Alakhlu village and inflicting losses to the adversary, according to reliable data of the Defense Army respective services. The Defense Army suffered no losses as a result of the Azerbaijani provocative actions, the ministry added.
“The military-political leadership in Baku will bear the entire responsibility for the consequences,” the Defense Army said.
