No discussion about introduction of single currency within EAEU until 2025, CBA Chairman says
Armenia's Central Bank Chairman Artur Javadyan rules out discussions about introduction of single currency within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until 2025. Javadyan’s comments came during the parliament hearing on Thursday in response to MP Nikol Pashinyan’s question whether the matter of introduction of single currency is considered.
“We should consider the situation in the EAEU member states before initiating any discussion over the matter. At present, we are not ready. Moreover, there can be no word for the upcoming 15-20 years,” Javadyan noted, adding Armenia has principled stance on the issue.
CBA Chairman also referred to the EAEU adopted document ruling out the discussions of the single currency until the year 2025.
