Armenian political analyst Tevan Poghosyan has no expectations from Nalbandian-Mammadyarov meeting
As long as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unsettled, Azerbaijan is capable of anything. The adversary does not change its behavor, making huge financial investments to give a military solution to the conflict and to force the Armenian people to leave the region.
Political analyst Tevan Poghosyan, Director of the Yerevan-based International Center for Human Development, noted the aforesaid at a news conference on Tuesday.
“We must change our tactics and strategy, otherwise the adversary will attempt to inflict harm to us every day. The Defense Army should be ready to curb Azerbaijan at any moment. We must realize that provocations are likely and prevent them through attacking first,” Mr. Poghosyan said, adding that Armenia should be ready to different scenario developments.
Reflecting on the Nalbandian-Mammadyarov meeting scheduled today, Tevan Poghosyan highlighted that he has no expectations from that meeting, adding that he will have certain expectations when such meetings are held in trilateral format, with the participation of the Karabakh side.
“In case Azerbaijan purchases arms, it means the country is going to apply them one day, rather than look at them and admire. The April war victims should come as a lesson to us. If we do not want escalation, we must prevent it. Armenia should not calm down that the war is over. We must rush all the time,” the speaker added.
