Karabakh Defense Army soldier awarded posthumously
On 11 July President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on posthumously awarding serviceman of NKR Defense Army's N division Vazgen Poghosyan with the "For Service in Battle" medal for bravery shown during the defense of the NKR state border, the Central Information Department of the Artsakh President’s Office told Panorama.am.
To note, on July 10, at around 17:40, a Karabakh Defense Army soldier identified as Vazgen Zh. Poghosyan (b. 1997) sustained a fatal gunshot wound as a result of Azerbaijani shooting at a military position stationed in the eastern direction of the line of contact. An investigation is under way to uncover the details of the case.
