The construction of the trade corridor running through Abkhazia and South Ossetia will enable Armenia to use a second and third alternative routes, Vahan Martirosyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, said at a news conference on Wednesday, Panorama.am reports.
“This is a continuous process and first of all depends on the Russian-Georgian relations. Both sides are conducting activities. We hope it will be settled in coming future,” the minister said.
Mr. Martirosyan noted that the construction of the route will enable Armenia to have a second and third alternative routes.
“At present, the Russian-Georgian-Swiss working group is working, with the last meeting held in Prague. They move forward step by step at various meetings. Due to the construction of the trade corridor, cargo transportation will become easier for Armenia; there will be alternative routes, competition, as well as price differences both in imports and exports,” the minister highlighted.
