French Ambassador to Armenia welcomes recent meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs
“The meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers was held under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group. We have always supported direct and more regular dialogue,” Jean-François Charpentier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, told a news conference on Thursday.
In his words, from this perspective they can express satisfaction that the latest meeting was held at the level of the foreign ministers of the two countries.
“I, as everyone else, state that the [Nagorno-Karabakh] conflict has no military solution and it must be settled through peace talks. In order to hold talks, people need to meet regularly and manage to reach conclusions due to the negotiation process and regular meetings,” the ambassador noted.
The French diplomat said that the recent meeting has a ppositive trend in a sense that it can lead to organizing a meeting between the heads of the two countries in the future.
“At the moment we simply need to work hard to make such meetings continuous,” the ambassador highlighted.
