Armenia’s Artur Aleksanyan holds 3rd place in United World Wrestling rankings
The United World Wrestling (UWW) has released the updated rankings for the Greco-Roman style wrestlers for July 2017. The list of the top athletes features six Armenian wrestlers.
As the Armenian National Olympic Committee told Panorama.am, Olympic Champion Artur Aleksanyan continues to hold the 3rd place in the 98kg weight class.
Olympic silver medalist Mihran Harutyunyan (66kg) is ranked 7th. Varsham Boranyan (71 kg) retreated to the 19th position. Karapet Chalyan (75kg) and Arsen Julfalakyan (75kg) have both climbed up in the rankings, taking the 9th and 15th places respectively. Maksim Manukyan (85 kg) ranks 15th.
At present, the Armenian national Greco-Roman wrestling team is preparing for the World Championships.
