High risk of fire predicted amid heatwave in the territory of Armenia
High temperature in the territory of Armenia is predicted on July 17-20. As the Hydromet Service of Armenia’s ministry of emergency situations (MES) reports, in the daytime up to 38...39 degrees above zero and a high risk of fire is predicted in the valleys of Syunik, in Yerevan and Ararat Valley. Average daily air temperature will be 5-7 degrees higher than normal.
On July 16 in northern parts short rain with thunderstorm is predicted, during thunderstorm the wind speed will exceed up to 15-20 m/s, in separate places hail is possible. On July 17-20, no precipitation is predicted. Southwest wind speed is 3-8 m/s. The air temperature will gradually go up by 3-4 degrees, the source said.
In capital Yerevan in the evening of July 16 in separate places short rain with thunderstorm is predicted. During thunderstorm, the wind speed will exceed up to 15-20 m/s. On July 17-20, no precipitation is predicted. In the evenings mountain-valley wind speed may exceed up to 16-20 m/s.
