10 companies overcome pre-qualification stage of the international tender to construct 55MW solar power plant in Armenia
10 companies and consortia have passed to the second round of the international tender issued for the construction of the first-ever 55MW solar power plant in Armenia. As Panorama.am was informed from Armenia’s Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, the corresponding decision was made by the Commission established to assist the program of solar power plant construction in Armenia based on the assessment of the technical, financial, and legal criteria of the submitted applications.
The companies that overcame the pre-qualification stage are the following: TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis Co., Ltd, China –Subsolar Energy Holding LLC, the Netherlands, Phelan Energy Group Limited, South Africa –Korea Electric Power Corporation, Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure Capital Company Private Limited, India – Risen Energy Co. Limited, China, Metka, Greece –Energy Phoenix, Lebanon, Access Infra Central Asia Limited, U.A.E – Eren Renewable Energy S.A., France – TSK Electronica, Spain, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures B.V, Netherlands, –FSL Solar S.L., Country: Spain, Acciona Energia S.A.U., Spain, Building Energy Development Africa, Italy –H1 Holdings (Pty) Ltd, South Africa, Sky Power Global, Cayman –Enerparc Projects GMBH, Germany, CountourGlobal LP, Cayman Islands)։
At the second stage the applicant companies will compete in the tariff bids. Preference will be given to the applicant that will propose the lowest and the most competitive tariff, Deputy Minister Hayk Harutyunyan informed.
The competition for the second round will be announced in September with the expected end date for the tender slated for the beginning of the next year. It is expected that the first 55MW solar power plant will be constructed in Armenia in 2018.
To note, on the basis of the investment program approved by the Government, 110MW solar power plants are to be constructed in six locations in Armenia with the first 55MW plant to be constructed in Masrik site of Gegharkunik Province.
