Iran values the region of the South Caucasus, and, specifically, Armenia in the context of the ongoing regional developments, Iranian political scientist Ehsan Houshmand told a press conference on Friday in Yerevan.

In his words, Iranians know well the Armenian society and acknowledge the contribution of the Armenian community of Iran, playing vital role in Iran‘s development in terms of serving the Islamic Republic as full-fledged citizens.

Houshmand underlined that Iranian-Armenian relations are expanded in different domains and cover numerous spheres. “Subsequently, we should exert efforts to expand and develop those relations even further,” the Iranian expert explained, pointing out to efforts by enemies of the two countries to damage those relations.

“Some regional rival countries to Iran are not happy with the level of Armenia- Iranian relations, yet our ties are growing day by day despite that,” noted Ehsan Houshmand.
