European Youth Olympic Festival kicked off in Hungary
The 14th European Youth Olympic Summer Festival (EYOF) kicked off in Győr, Hungary
on Sunday. As the National Olympic Committee of Armenia reports, at the opening ceremony the Armenian flag was carried swimmer Artur Barseghyan.
EYOF Győr 2017 that will last until July 29 has welcomed approximately 2500 athletes from 50 European countries between the ages of 14 to 18, whom will compete across 10 different sports: athletics, basketball, kayak-canoe, cycling, artistic gymnastics, handball, judo, swimming, tennis and volleyball.
The Armenian athletes will start their performances in tennis and athletics.
Tennis players Yuri Martirosyan, Artur Soghomonyan, Evelina Martirosyan, Eva Khachatryan will play their first games today, while Davit Martirosyan will compete in the 100m sprint.
