Yerevan hosts meeting on Armenia-EU relations
Karen Nazaryan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, on Tuesday received representatives of different subdivisions of the European Parliament. According to a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting the sides touched upon the recent developments in the EU-Armenia relations, the activities aimed at developing a legal-contractual field, as well as Armenia's participation in the EU programs.
Deputy Minister Nazaryan underscored that the major part of the commitments prescribed by the joint declaration adopted at Eastern Partnership summit in Riga, Latvia, has already been implemented. He also stressed the importance of the active cooperation with EU institutions, including the European Parliament, as well as with the other EU member states in completely implementing the commitments.
Upon the request of the guests, Mr. Nazaryan reflected on the efforts taken by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries aimed at pushing forward the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks, underlining that the non-constructive and provocative steps by Azerbaijan hinder those efforts.
The Armenian official also commented on the pressing regional and international issues.
The sides reached an agreement to hold continues meetings in such a format.
