Foreign Minister of Armenia, Minister of Regional Cooperation of Israel held talks in Yerevan
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received on Tuesday the Minister of Regional Cooperation of the State of Israel Tzachi Hanegbi who is paying an official visit to Armenia.
As the press department at the ministry foreign of affairs reported, welcoming the guest Minister Nalbandian noted the importance to the visit of the Israeli minister, pointing to the deeply-rooted friendly relations between Armenian and Jewish peoples which serve good ground for the development of interstate cooperation.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation to visit Yerevan and the warm reception, Minister Hanegbi noted Israel looks to develop friendly relations with Armenia which is the main message of his visit.
At the meeting, the interlocutors had substantial conversation on a range of issues of the bilateral agenda, discussed urgent regional and international matters. The ministers mentioned with satisfaction the activation of Armenian-Israeli interactions at the public domain, noting that would contribute to the strengthening of interstate relations.
Ministers Nalbandian, Hanegbi highlighted the enhancement of the legal field, the consultations between the two ministries of foreign affairs, closer cooperation in international organization and the importance of interparliamentary exchanges. The agenda of the talks comprised also steps aimed at boosting of trade and economic relations, the full utilization of the tourism potential as stressed bilaterally.
According to the release, the Israeli minister presented his country’s approaches to regional developments. Upon the request of the guest, Minister Nalbandian presented the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries aimed at creating conducive conditions for the advancement of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
After the negotiations, a signing ceremony of documents took place. Armenian and Israeli ministers signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Cabinet of the State of Israel on the Abolition of Visas for Holders of Diplomatic Passports as well as the Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to taxes on income and property.
The Cooperation plan in the areas of science, culture and education for 2017-2020 was signed between Minister Tzachi Hanegbi and the Minister of Culture of Armenia Armen Amiryan.
