Russia’s Putin signs Russian-Armenian military grouping deal into law
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill “On the ratification of the agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia about a joint grouping of troops (forces)”, reports Interfax.
The announcement was posted on the official web portal of legal information.
The agreement, signed in Moscow on November 30, 2016, was ratified by Russia's State Duma on July 14 and by Federation Council on July 19.
To remind, the document and its enclosure determine the purpose, the procedure of formation, deployment and operation of the joint group of forces. It notes that the grouping is meant to ensure military security in the Collective Security Caucasus region.
