Dr. Hovhannisyan sent to Cairo to assist recovery of Armenian citizen injured in Hurghada stabbing – spox
An Armenian physician has been sent to Cairo to assist the recovery of the Armenian citizen wounded in a knife attack at an Egyptian Red Sea resort in Hurghada on July 14.
“At the initiative of Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Health has dispatched Professor A. Hovhannisyan to Cairo to help the Armenian tourist to recover,” Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan said in a Tweet on Wednesday.
As reported earlier, the other Armenian tourist wounded in the attack returned to Armenia on August 1.
To remind, a 28-year-old Egyptian man stabbed two German tourists to death and wounded four others from Armenia, Russia and Czech Republic at a seafront hotel in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Hurghada on July 14. The security measures have been tightened in Hurghada following the incident.
The assailant was neutralized due to the help of the injured Armenian woman.
