Traditional Armenian wedding ceremony to be staged at Zvartnots museum-reserve
A traditional Armenian wedding is set to be staged at the territory of Zvartnots Historical-Cultural Museum-Reserve of Armenia on 10 August.
The unique event organized by Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservations SNCO in cooperation with Teryan Cultural Center is a staging of a traditional Armenian wedding ceremony, with all its customs.
As the Service for the Protection told Panorama.am, the bride and groom wearing traditional Armenian costumes, the bridesmaid and the godfather will present the elements of a traditional Armenian wedding, which are forgotten at some extent.
The area of Zvartnots reserve-museum is planned to be decorated with Armenian motifs - carpets, jars, accompanied with Armenian folk music (zurna and dhol).
"Karin” (artistic director Gagik Ginosyan) and "Vostan" (artistic director G. Abelyan-Badalyan) folk song and dance ensembles, as well as “Masunk” Folk Song and Dance Group named after Rudik Haroyan will also perform during the ceremony.
The wedding ceremony is staged by Honored Worker of Culture Armen Manukyan.
