Armenian airports see 28% increase in passenger flow for January-July 2017
Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in Gyumri welcomed increased number of passengers in January-July 2017 to compare with the data of the indicated period of the previous year.
As Panorama.am learnt from the General Department of Civil Aviation, the both airports served 1,373,856 passengers for the first seven months of the current year, which is 28% increase compared with data of January-July 2016.
In July 2017, the passenger flow at Zvartnots Airport accounted for 270,751 passengers - 19% more against the data of the previous year. Overall, Zvartnots Airport has recorded 24,7% increase in passenger flow in January-July 2017, while the number of Shirak Airport is 526.6% increase.
The published data also show that 12,708 tons of cargo has been transported through Zvartnots Airport during the first seven months of 2017, which is 59,7% increase over the volume transported in January-July 2016.
Meanwhile, the total number of flights and landings of the both airports in January-July 2017 has also registered increase accounting for 24.2% to compare with the numbers of the previous year.
