Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz: Aronian wins two games, loses one
The ten GMs taking part in Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz tournament, the fourth stop on the Grand Chess Tour 2017, have played three rounds in Rapid event.
Armenian GM Levon Aronian claimed two wins, and suffered one defeat, collecting a total of 4 points. 13th World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov drew all his games.
In Round 1, the Armenian GM defeated David Navara (the Czech Republic) 1-0. In Round 2 Aronian lost his game against Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) 0-1 and in the third round the Armenian player claimed a 1-0 win over Viswanathan Anand (India).
After three rounds, Caruana, Le Quang Liem, Aronian and Nepomniachtchi share 1-4 positions with 4 points apiece.
In Rapid games, each win is 2 points and a draw is 1 point.
