Russian water bomber to conduct fifth flight over Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve
The Russian IL-76 water bomber aircraft, involved in a firefighting mission of Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve, on Tuesday operated its fourth flight over the fire-hit territory.
The water bomber refills its tanks through pipes at Erebuni Airport in capital city Yerevan.
Currently the firefighting aircraft is preparing for its fifth flight over the territory of the reserve, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told Panorama.am.
To note, more than 150 rescuers of the MES Rescue Service, as well as Russian IL-76 water bomber aircraft, two helicopters of the Air Force of Armenia’s Defense Ministry, 132 servicemen, 70 police officers, 50 forestry workers, 8 employers of the State Environmental Inspectorate, over 600 inhabitants of Urtsadzor village of Armenia’s Ararat Province and the neighboring districts are involved in firefighting works of the reserve.
