Armenia’s PM takes part in groundbreaking ceremony for water factory in Artsakh
Prime Minister of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Arayik Harutyunyan on Tuesday welcomed Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, who is in Artsakh on an unofficial visit, in Shahumyan region of the country.
Afterwards, the two officials familiarized themselves with a number of economic projects implemented in the region, the press service of the Artsakh government told Panorama.am.
Apart from getting acquainted with the construction works of Vardenis-Martakert highway and the hydroelectric power plants, the two PMs also took part in the groundbreaking ceremony of water factory to be constructed near Karvachar town.
“This is a historical moment, since we are laying the foundation of an unprecedented size factory for Shahumyan region. This project is implemented through foreign investments, aimed at exporting high volumes of Karvachar water. It will significantly boost the socio-economic development in the region, since the factory will initially provide 50 jobs, meantime promoting the infrastructure development in the neighboring regions. Therefore, the government is ready to assist the implementation of this program as much as possible,” Arayik Harutyunyan said.
