13.5km perimeter fire extinguished at Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve
A total of 13.5km out of the 16km perimeter fire broken out at Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve on 12 August has been isolated and extinguished.
Currently works are underway to put out the remaining 2.5km perimeter fire, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reports.
The employees of Russia’s MES, environmentalists, the Armenian Armed Forces, as well as residents are involved in the fire extinguishing works at the forest.
Despite the adverse weather conditions, the Russian IL-76 water bomber aircraft continues its flights to put out the forest fire.
