Post-extinguishing activities underway in Khosrov Forest State Reserve
Post-extinguishing activities continue in Khosrov Forest State Reserve as of 09:00 a.m. on August 23, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told Panorama.am, adding the jet of the Defense Ministry another carried out reconnaissance flight on Tuesday.
According to the source, 45 rescuers and 34 forestry workers are involved in the activities, neutralizing and extinguishing around 100 smoking spots.
To remind, a major fire broke out in Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve (located some 60 kilometers southeast of Yerevan) on August 12, consuming several hundred hectares. The wildfire was extinguished by the Russian firefighting aircraft in coordination with the Armenian firefighting and rescue teams.
