Post-extinguishing activities resume in Khosrov State Reserve
Post-extinguishing activities continue in Khosrov Forest State Reserve as of August 25, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told Panorama.am.
According to the source, 90 rescuers, 40 forestry workers, and 5 police officers are involved in the activities. Reconnaissance flight were carried out over 600 hectares of territory, detecting 86 smoking spots, all of which were extinguished.
As the ministry detailed, round-the clock duty is established in the territory of the state reserve. The post-extinguishing activates have resumed this morning with some 81 rescuers ad 29 forestry workers engaged in the works.
To remind, a major fire broke out in Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve (located some 60 kilometers southeast of Yerevan) on August 12, consuming several hundred hectares. The wildfire was extinguished by the Russian firefighting aircraft in coordination with the Armenian firefighting and rescue teams.
