Armenian firefighter suffered smoke inhalation in Borjomi fire
Four firefighting brigades of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) have continued extinguishing activities on Friday to contain the forest fire in Borjomi Municipality, Georgia, which flared up on August 20 near village Daba and quickly spread into the surrounding areas devastating reportedly around 100 hectares of woodland.
As Panorama.am learnt from the Ministry release, three major fire sites are still blazing in Borjomi gorge with the Armenian rescue personnel deployed in the vicinity of Tsakhverd and Daba villages.
According to the source, one Armenian firefighter was taken to mobile medical point Thursday night for smoke inhalation he suffered while fighting the fire. The firefighter is back to service following treatment received from the paramedics of MES medical center for crisis.
