Georgian PM thanks Armenia for the help in tackling wildfires
Georgian Prime Minister Georgi Kvirikashvili who leads the firefighting operations in forest fire in Borjomi Municipality, has expressed gratitude to firefighter-rescuers from Armenia, as he visited the Tsakhverd settlement where the Armenian rescue team is deployed.
As the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported, the Armenian rescuers were deployed to the area with a difficult relief section of the forest to fight the fire since August 23 near Daba and Tsakhverd settlements, preventing the blaze from spreading into adjacent locations.
According to the release, the Armenian firefighters has successfully extinguished all the active fire spots, completing their mission.
“The Armenians arrived in Georgia in difficult days and contributed significantly to the battle against the wildfire. You along with us exerted joint efforts in successful containment of the fire. I wish to express gratitude to the people of Armenia, the President, Prime Minister, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the country for lending a helping hand to the brotherly state. We highly value what you did out here,” Georgi Kvirikashvili has stated.
