Alexander Iskandaryan: No major changes expected with appointment of a new Minsk Group Co-Chair
The head of “Caucasus” Institute Alexander Iskandaryan says no major changes should be expected with the appointment of the new OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair from the United States. As a press conference on Monday the political scientist described Andrew Schofer as an experienced diplomat who has had an experience in dealing with number of conflicts.
To remind, on August 24, the United States announced about the appointment of Andrew Schofer as the new permanent Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, replacing Richard Hoagland in that position.
Speaking of the recently published by document by Hoagland with six main points for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh, Iskandaryan said: “There was no news there, since the outgoing Co-Chair simple reiterated the Madrid Principles which are currently at the negotiation table.”
