Fire spots completely eliminated at Nairi Chemical Plant
As of 09:30 the burning storage tanks filled with combustible chemical waste at Yerevan Nairi Chemical Plant are completely extinguished, Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported in a release.
According to the source, automatic cooling system is installed to cool the air flow, the situation is under control, and two firefighting brigades are on duty at the scene.
To remind, a fire has broken out on August 28 at the Nairit plant in capital city Yerevan on Monday afternoon. Al alert received by the MES at 1:10pm said that an explosion hit the territory of the plant, followed by fire.
Ten firefighting crews and the MES operative response group and the emergency response group of the regional Crisis Management Center were dispatched to the scene. At about 2pm, the fire was isolated, with no danger of its further spreading, MES reported.
