Armenia, China discussing copper smelting plant construction
Armenia and China are discussing the issue of implementing an investment project for a copper smelting plant construction in Armenia, an official said on Thursday.
“The works are currently underway. We are holding talks with our Chinese partners. We will let you know when we have news,” the Minister of Economic Development and Investments, Suren Karayan told the reporters following today’s Cabinet meeting.
Mr. Karayan noted that the investment project is estimated at $300 million.
Commenting on the economic outcomes of the project, the minister said that they will become clear when the works are completed.
