Azerbaijan seeks to consistently discredit OSCE, Armenian official says
Armenia has applied to host the sessions of the four standing committees of the Euronest PA in the next year, Armen Ashotyan, Chair of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, told a news conference on Saturday.
Reflecting on the recent Azerbaijani fire opened in the direction of the representatives of the OSCE Mission conducting a monitoring near bordering Chinari village of Armenia’s Tavush Province on 31 August, the speaker noted that Azerbaijan runs a policy of not only keeping the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Karabakh-Azerbaijan borders under tension, but also consistently discrediting the OSCE.
“These shots targeted the OSCE, coming as another attempt to discredit the structure. The peace talks have come to a deadlock, with Azerbaijan de facto rejecting the well-known provisions. This stems from two-folded intentions: to feed the public with statements different from the ones they make abroad. Azerbaijan seeks to change the format of the Karabakh talks,” the lawmaker noted.
Commenting on the reports published by the two leading media outlets of Israel, suggesting the Israeli company demonstrated use of its drone by attacking Armenian army position at the Azerbaijan request, Mr. Ashotyan, said it is a matter of reputation of Israel to completely uncover the incident.
