Electricity generation rises 7.8% in Armenia in Jan-July
From January to July 2017, a total of 4 490.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity was produced in Armenia, showing a 7.8% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, as reported by Armenia’s National Statistical Service (NSS).
According to the NSS data, in January-July, the electricity generation at terminal power plants rose by 89.3%, amounting to 1 685.5 million kilowatt-hours.
The generation of thermal energy increased by 25.1%, standing at 64.2 million kilowatt-hours.
Electricity production volumes at hydropower plants cut down by 1.8%, comprising for 455.9 million kilowatt-hours.
In the indicated period, Armenia’s Nuclear Power Plant generated 1 347.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, declining by 24.8% to compare with the data of the previous year.
