Armenian world wrestling champions Artur Alexanyan and Maksim Manukyan awarded with cars
Armenian athletes Artur Alexanyan and Maksim Manukyan, who grabbed gold medals at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships held in Paris, France, have received an award from a Moscow-based Armenian businessman.
After following the bouts of the Armenian wrestlers in Paris, businessman Edgar Aramyan decided to award them with cars, according to the website of the Armenian National Olympic Committee.
The world champions received the awards in a ceremony led by Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Hrachya Rostomyan.
“I am very excited and full of emotions. I was there when our guys were struggling on the playground, crying out their names all the time. Each of their victory is also mine. I am delighted and want to thank Artur and Maxim, wishing similar success to the rest of our athletes,” Edgar Aramyan said.
Minister Rostomyan highly appreciated the move, thanking the Armenian businessman for his attitude.
“The incident made me very happy, since our guys really deserve the honor. Being appreciated is among the best feelings one can experience. It is pleasing to see that people like Edgar Aramyan have the desire to support our athletes. Such victories are important for our state, since they make Armenia more recognizable worldwide,” he said.
The world champions also expressed gratitude to the businessman for his attention.
