Armenian wrestler Hayk Asatryan to struggle for bronze at 2017 Cadet World C’ships today
Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Hayk Asatryan (50kg) on Tuesday will struggle for the bronze medal at the 2017 Cadet World Wrestling Championships, which kicked off in Athens, Greece on Monday.
Another representative of Armenia Shant Khachatryan (63kg) lost the bout to his Russian opponent in the quarter-finals of the championship, after showing excellent performance in the qualifying round and 1/8 finals, the Armenian National Olympic Committee reports.
Armenian Greco-Roman wrestlers Sargis Tadevosyan (69 kg), Davit Poghosyan (76 kg) and Tigran Hambardzumyan (85 kg) will begin their performances from the qualifying round of the tournament today.
The Cadet World Championships are a different format from the other UWW World Championships, as all Cadet weights will be contested as two-day tournaments with two morning weigh-ins.
