Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargysan, on official visit to People’s Republic of China (CPC), met today with the member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee,
Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission Senior General Xu Qiliang.  As defense ministry reported in a release, Xu Qiliang expressed hope the visit of Minister Sargsyan to China will give a new impetus to deepening of the Armenian-Chinese cooperation.

According to the release, the interlocutors discussed cooperation prospects and opportunities in the defense sector, including the military education and the humanitarian spheres.

One indication of the high-level Armenian-Chinese cooperation is the mutually balanced approach to sensitive issues to both countries. Vigen Sagsyan thanked for the principal and constructive position of China toward the Karabakh conflict.

The parties concurred that Armenian-Chinese relations have great potential and much efforts are needed to realize it. High-level political discussion between the two countries was highlighted as a great contribution to that end.  

In the words of the Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission, Armenia is a reliable and sincere partner to China. The interlocutors arranged to intensify efforts aimed at deepening the cooperation between the two friendly states.
