Two Armenians dead, three injured in deadly bus crash in Georgia
Two ethnic Armenians have been killed and three citizens of Armenia have sustained injures in a deadly traffic accident in Georgia’s Natakhtari region on Thursday morning.
The wounded Armenian citizens were hospitalized at Mtskheta town hospital, the Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia informs.
A Mercedes car reportedly collided with an Armenian passenger bus Setra on Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway in Georga in the early morning on 7 September. Eleven passengers of the bus have applied for medical aid.
According to the preliminary information, the Mercedes was at fault for the crash.
The Armenian Embassy in Georgia is in constant contact with the local authorities and will further provide additional information.
Speaking to Panorama.am, sources from the Armenian Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies said the bus, reportedly owned by an Armenian citizen identified as Gor Tadevosyan, transported passengers from Armenia to Russia.
The source informed that the driver of the bus was fined 450,000 AMD on 18 August, when it operated its regular transportation from Armenia.
