Armenian air-defense units shoot down a missile and UAV at CIS joint drills
The units of the Armenian Air Defense forces equipped two С-300 systems conducted two live-fire exercises during the Combat Commonwealth 2017 CIS joint air defense exercises at the Ashuluk range, Russia’s Astrakhan region, Armenia’s defense ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Panorama.am
In his words, one of the targets was a ballistic missile, while the other - an UAV. Our unit performed the tasks with excellence shooting the targets with the first fires.
To note, more than 1,500 troops from Belarus, Russia, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan, up to 200 anti-aircraft systems, military and special hardware of the Aerospace Forces have been involved in the exercise. Fighters, bombers, assault and long-range aircraft have been redeployed from Russian Western and southern MD to the area to take part in the exercise.
