Yerevan Brandy Company unveils plans to purchase 30,000 tons of grape this year
Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC) said on Thursday it will start the grape purchasing process on 15 September in Armavir branch (Armenia’s Armavir Province). The Aygavan branch of the factory (Ararat Province) will join the process on September 16. The date of starting the grape purchasing in Berd branch (Tavush Province) is to be announced, the company said in a press release.
“Taking into consideration the importance of viticulture in the bordering territories of Tavush, YBC expressed readiness to buy the entire harvest from grape growers of bordering villages, the grapes that are in line with the quality standards of YBC.
This year Yerevan Brandy Company will purchase 30,000 tons of grape allocating 4 billion AMD for it.
Continuing the well-established approach of on-time payments, this year YBC will pay each grape grower within 3-4 banking days after the grape delivery. The purchasing price for 1 kg of grapes is 130 AMD for all the branches. It is worth noting that the purchasing price for the previous years in Berd branch was 10 drams less, since the sugar level of grapes in Tavush region is lower,” reads the release.
This year as well, the company is continuing the program for providing pesticides on credit basis, the total costs of which makes up 266 million AMD. It should be noted that within the scope of the program the villagers cooperating with the company can have all the necessary pesticides on credit with no interest with the condition of covering the amount during the grape purchasing.
Yerevan Brandy Company continues the program of long-term contracts established in 2013, the total number of which is currently 453.
