Airport construction works launched in Armenia’s southern Syunik province
The construction works of the airport building in Armenia’s Kapan town of the southern Syunik region have started, aide to Syunik Governor Robert Hayrapetyan wrote on Facebook, publishing photos of the building design. The project implementation started in March of the current year.
The facility has already witnessed the first test landing in June, and the authorities are optimistic to complete the project by the first half of next year.
To note, the airport relaunching program was initiated by the country’s aviation officials at the instruction of the President.
The airport will operate round-trip flights to Yerevan, providing the residents an opportunity to travel to capital city Yerevan for just forty minutes instead of driving for around five hours.
