Concert dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of Hovhannes Ayvazovsky
A concert dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of great Armenian seascape painter Hovhannes Ayvazovsky will take place on September 18 at Aram Khachatryan Concert Hall.
As the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra reports, the concert will feature soloist Alessio Bax (piano) from the USA and will be conducted by Paul Emmanuel Thomas from France.
The event which is held in the frames of the 11th Yerevan International Music Festival, will feature “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” symphonic scherzo, Piano Concerto by Grieg, and “The Sea” by Claude Debussy.
To note, this year marks the 200th birth anniversary of the world-famous seascape painter Hovhannes Aivazovsky. The anniversary is included in UNESCO's list of memorable dates in 2017.
