Yerevan Open int’l chess tour kicks off in Armenia
The 2nd Yerevan Open International Chess Tournament kicked off at the Chess Academy of Armenia in capital city Yerevan on 18 September.
The international tournament scheduled for 18-27 September, features some 150 chess players from 13 countries, including 20 international grandmasters and 25 international and FIDE masters, the press office of the Yerevan Municipality reports.
The tournament with total prize fund of 18 000 USD, is a 9 round Swiss system tournament organized by the Yerevan Chess Federation.
The solemn opening ceremony of the Yerevan Open Chess Tournament was accompanied by a festive concert.
