Idea to build a modern and developing state inspiring for all Armenians to unite around – PM Karapetyan
Armenia has a serious potential to become a modern and advanced country and to respond adequately to all the domestic and foreign challenges, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said today, in his speech addressed to the participants of the 6th Pan-Armenian Armenia-Diaspora conference underway in Yerevan.
According to Mr. Karapetyan, the modern world, including Armenia, is undergoing structural reforms. “We have launched reforms in all parts of our country, in all spheres to ensure Armenia’s worthy place in the world. That is why our reforms are aimed at not only settling today’s problems, but also laying foundation to make Armenia competitive on the international arena,” the PM said.
The premier believes Armenia needs a sustainable and long-term growth to become a competitive and developed state. “That is why we need a sharp increase in effectiveness in all the spheres. We need fundamental changes in mindset and practice to achieve all this,” he noted.
Karen Karapetyan mentioned that throughout centuries the Armenian people struggled, uniting their powers mostly when facing a threat to their existence. “We are proud of the fact that our nation, unlike many other nations, preserved its identity and managed to constantly develop and create. We have survived battles, persecutions, oppression, genocide and extermination attempts. Amid all the hardships, our nation has never lost its self-respect and dignity, never abandoning the dream to build an independent Armenia. Our current difficulties are incomparable with the ones experienced by our ancestors. As a result, we are here today and have an independent country. This is a supreme value. I am confident that the idea to build a modern, effective, logical and developing state built on good history traditions is an inspiring goal to unite around,” the official said.
PM Karapetyan believes today the goal of all Armenians is to build a free, safe, fair and smart country and Armenia has the necessary preconditions for that.
