Armenia, Iran sign cinema cooperation agreement
The National Cinema Centre of Armenia (NCCA) and Iran’s Farabi Cinema Foundation on Monday signed a cooperation agreement on cinema sphere at the Ministry of Culture in capital city Yerevan.
From the Armenian side, the document was ratified by NCCA Director Shushanik Mirzakhanyan, and from the Iranian side – by Alireza Tabesh, Director of the Farabi Cinema Foundation, the press office of the NCCA reports.
Both sides expressed hope that the agreement will greatly contribute to the development of new processes in cinema sphere.
According to Shushanik Mirzakhanyan, the new agreement enables to further expand and enhance the long-lasting Armenia-Iran cultural cooperation.
Mr. Alireza Tabesh strongly believes the document will open a new chapter for the partnership between the cinema sectors of the two states.
The agreement lays out numerous directions for cooperation, including the film production sector, ranging from script writing up to post-production phase, implementation of educational programs in both countries, establishment of Armenia-Iran film market, distribution of films, development of festival partnership and the others.
