“Hover” State Chamber Choir to mart its 25th anniversary with a festive concert
“Hover” State Chamber Choir is set to mark the 25th anniversary of its establishment with a festive concert at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The ministry of culture reports, aside from the State Chamber Choir, the concert program features soloists of the “Hover” choral ensemble, Armenian tenor Liparit Avetisyan of the Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, invited Orchestra conducted by RA People’s Artist Karen Durgaryan, Trio Vahagn Hayrapetyan, soloist Gayane Movsisyan, others.
The concert program includes spiritual, folk and pearls of contemporary composers, Clocks and Clouds by György Ligeti, pieces from Pepo performance by Vache Sharafyan, Stevie Wonder's lyrics among them.
“Hover” State Chamber Choir was established in 1992 in Armenia by Sona Hovhannisyan and the students of Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory. Hover received the Gold Medal at the International Choir Olympiad in Linz, Austria in 2000, became a prize winner at the International Competition in Tours, France, received diplomas at the International Polyphonic Music Festival in Arezzo, Italy in 1997.
Starting from 2011 “Hover” continues its activity as a member of the National Center of Chamber Music. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its professional activity “Hover” Chamber Choir was awarded a Gold Medal of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
