Traditional Armenian wedding to be staged at “Zvartnots” museum-reserve in scopes of European Heritage Days
On the sidelines of the European Heritage Days, a traditional Armenian wedding ceremony is slated to be staged at “Zvartnots” historical-cultural museum-reserve on 30 September.
The Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservations reported, the event is aimed at reviving the forgotten traditions of the Armenian wedding.
The bride and groom wearing traditional Armenian costumes, as well as the other participants of the role-playing event, will involve the attendees in the Armenian wedding ceremonies held long ago.
The area of “Zvartnots” museum-reserve is planned to be decorated with Armenian motifs, accompanied with Armenian folk music (zurna and dhol). The participants of the ceremony feature “Shoghakn” folk ensemble, “Teryan” Cultural Center, “Masunk” and “Vark Hayots” Folk Song and Dance Groups.
The entrance is free.
Other events are also scheduled on the same day at the territory of other monuments of the Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservations.
