Yerevan Open coming to an end with two players leading the table
Round 7 of Yerevan Open international chess tournament was held today at Chess Academy of Armenia. As the official website of the tournament reported, in the passed round GM Karen Grigoryan defeated GM Harnt Melkumayn who is the first seed of the tournament. IM Arman Mikaelyan took victory over GM Ivan Rozum. Due to this victory Arman’s live rating became 2500 and in the 88th FIDE Congress he will be granted the title of GM. Important victories were gained by Robert Hovhannisyan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan, Oleg Korneev and Amin Tabatabei.
After the 7th round Arman Mikaelyan and Karen Grigoryan are leading the table with 6 points. A big group of 8 chess players is closely trailing the leaders.
