Ancient sites, museums, beautiful nature, culinary traditions – Russian blogger shares his impressions of visit to Artsakh
Following his regular visit to Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), Russian blogger Sergey Novikov has published an article titled “Nagorno-Karabakh: Blacklistparty2017”, sharing his impressions of the trip.
“I have recently completed my regular fifth tour through Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. This time, the visit was on the sidelines of a blog tour, travelling at a completely different pace than during a free trip,” he wrote.
The blogger informed he visited Artsakh in mid-September, when the summer weather maintains grip on the Caucasus in daytime, while the golden autumn begins in the mountains and the gardens are full of fruit.
Sergey Novikov’s visit was rather eventful – three days and a path stretching more than one thousand kilometre from Yerevan to Stepanakert and in the reverse direction. He visited the major sites of Artsakh, starting from Dadivank in the north to the vineyards of the village of Togh.
“Ancient historic-cultural sites, museums, beautiful nature, culinary traditions, daily routine, meetings with old acquaintances and new acquaintances…
For me, it was a bonus to visit certain must see places in Karabakh, since I always planned to visit them in the next visit (not now, I will still manage it),” he wrote.
According to the blogger, the tour was rather eventful and meantime successful.
He stated that such visits are generally effective when presenting the given region, where the people are not used to foreign travellers, but do their best to attract them to their country” “It is beautiful, interesting and safe here – just visit”.
“However, in my opinion, Karabakh has a clear program of tourism development compared to the other unrecognized or partially recognized post-Soviet countries,” Sergey Novikov said, adding the country carries our real work in that direction by designing new routes, attending international exhibitions, restoring architectural monuments and organizing visits of reporters and bloggers.
Novikov posted photos from Shushi, Tigranakert, Hunot Gorge, Amaras, Dadivank, Gandzasar. Nikol Duman House Museum and other sites.
