In the scope of the two-day program, more than 100 cultural organizations, as well as a number of historical and cultural monuments, that were closed to mass attendees, will welcome visitors, with numerous cultural events to be organized in line with the day's advice.
The program agenda features concerts, film screenings, cultural leisure, literary and music events, educational, interactive programs, meeting-discussions, lectures, telescopes, tree-planting, marching tours to unique natural and cultural monuments.
This year, a number of events will be dedicated to the Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (Faro), its principles and implementation. Cultural walks in Yerevan, Gyumri, Goris and Dilijan are also planned, aimed at reviving the enormous heritage and role of historic cities in the community, as an important socio-economic resource.
Free entry is due for all the cultural organizations that joined the program.
European Heritage Days are held every year in 50 European countries party to the European Cultural Convention (1954). The idea of the project was born in 1984 in France under the heading "Open Days of Historical Monuments". The European Heritage Days program was officially approved by the Council of Europe in 1991, and in 1999 the European Union joined the project and the initiative was launched entitled "Europe: Common Heritage". More than 70,000 cultural events are held annually throughout Europe, raising public awareness of European heritage, highlighting the importance of its exceptionality and diversity, as well as the importance of its preservation.
