
Armenia is the first Eastern Partnership member state to sign a cooperation agreement with the EU – commissioner
“The European Union and Armenia will soon sign the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which will foster our cooperation,” Johannes Hans, Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, said today in Yerevan.
At a joint a news conference with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, the European official highlighted the unique role of the agreement in scopes of the Eastern Partnership, since Armenia is the first Eastern Partnership member state to establish partnership priorities with the EU.
“Thus, it can be stated the country is a pioneer in this respect,” he stressed.
Johannes Hans also said they will continue to provide serious support to businesses in the country.
