“Armenian Startup Academy” launched to promote startup culture in tech sector
“Armenian Startup Academy” pre-acceleration program launched today in Yerevan aiming to establish high standards in the education sphere and promote startup culture in the republic.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Emil Tarasyan, present at the event, told reporters the pilot project has considered the international experience. At the first phase 15 startups will be selected for further consideration and training over the coming weeks.
The program is designed to guide tech companies/teams through the process of customer development using advanced tracking methodologies and instruments. The teams will be guided and coached to apply to global/regional accelerators and to build relevant partnerships for market validation. The work with teams will include tech, financial, legal, business development and customer development coaching and support. The key components of the program include:
“One of the main goal of the program is to decrease the number of failed startups in the market and increase the success rate. Additionally, startups will acquire necessary skills to attract investments due to the existing difficulties in finding funding and investors,” Tarasyan noted.
To remind, “Armenian Startup Academy” is one of the projects by Catalyst Foundation implemented within the frames of “Support to SME Development in Armenia” program financed by the European Union and German Development Agency (GIZ).
