‘Our meeting with President Bako Sahakyan was very productive’ – U.S. Co-Chair of OSCE MG
“Our meeting with President Bako Sahakyan was very productive and we discussed numerous issues related to the conflict,” newly-appointed U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Andrew Schofer told the reporters following his meeting with Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan.
The U.S. official said to be aware of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “It's really complicated. For the peaceful settlement of the conflict, we together with the other co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group will continue to pay regular visits to the region,” Artsakhpress quoted Andrew Schofer as saying.
To note, Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan on Wednesday received the newly-appointed U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Andrew Schofer, who is in Artsakh on a cognitive visit.
Bako Sahakyan congratulated the co-chair on being appointed to a new position, wishing him efficient work, the press service of the Artsakh President’s Office reported.
Issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, situation along the borders and regional processes were on the meeting agenda.
Both sides highlighted the need for peaceful settlement of the conflict within the frameworks of the OSCE Minsk Group and implementation of consistent work in this direction.
