PM Karapetyan: Armenia’s trade turnover high with all EAEU member states
Being a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Armenia can serve as a good platform for its friends, and it can be viewed not only as a domestic market for Armenia, but also as a platform for developing ties with neighbouring state Iran, Armenia’s prime minister said today in Yerevan.
Addressing the participants of the Second International Forum of the Eurasian Partnership (IFEP) underway in Yerevan, Armenia, PM Karen Karapetyan noted Armenia is close to completing a free economic zone deal with Iran, with agreements to be reached with the Iranian side over a special regime on the border. He noted Armenia has GSP and GSP+ preferential regimes with the EU and the European states.
“I think it will be appropriate to consider the engagement of our states also in those activities,” the PM said.
Speaking about the 6th Armenian-Russian Interregional Forum, Mr. Karapetyan pointed to the high-level cooperation in all the levels of interstate relations between Armenia and Russia.
“Meantime I must say the potential is not fully used yet. Moreover, the potential is greater than it exists today. We have recorded increasingly high trade turnover with all the EAEU member states, including in imports, exports and tourism sectors, prompted by the travel of the Russian citizens to Armenia with their internal passports.
I think the topics on discussion are diverse. I wish you all successful work and wish you can perceive the colour of our unique and fantastic country,” the PM summed up.
To note, the Second International Forum of the Eurasian Partnership (IFEP) is being held in Armenia on 6-7 October, in attendance of representatives from business and expert circles, heads of world-famous organizations from Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the U.S., China, Qatar, South Korea, India and other states.
